Do you end up feeling stressed at the end of a working day? Here are a couple of useful Sophrology tips from Florence Parot.
1. Several times a day, for a few seconds, close your eyes, unclench your jaw, let your shoulders drop to the floor and take a deep breath.
2. When you get back home, sit down for a few minutes and ‘see’ yourself leaving work and closing your office door behind you, gently but firmly! Then concentrate on how you are sitting down at home, your feet on the floor and breathe gently. Rub your hands briskly, open your eyes and go on with the rest of your day!

Yes, since the begining of the year, I have been feeling stressed – physically especially; but not only at the end of the working day – sometimes in the middle of the day too and more recently between the hours of about 2pm & 4pm…
I was talking to a business colleague and he mentioned that he was never at his best between 4 & 6pm and so if he happened to be at home during this time, (he runs his business from home) he got his head down for an hour or so – especially during the winter months when the cold seems to take so much more out of you.
I personally feel that during my working day everything seems to build up and by about 3pm if I’ve not completed the majority of the tasks I’ve set myself for the day, then basically that ’2-hour’ window is all I have left, with more often than not 4 hours of work left to do….!!!!
I think our continental cousins have got the right idea by downing tools and ‘locking up shop’ after lunchtime for a ‘Siesta’, as the body naturally wants to rest during the middle of the day, after a meal. So really it makes perfect sense to for everyone to have a break and return re-freshed, alert and raring to go.
Okay, so who’s going to join me in lobbying parliament for a change in the law to the working day….?
Form an orderly queue now…

Sounds totally sensible to me Joanne I’m right behind you in the queue. Thanks for the comment
